BYO Horse Holidays Overview
Spend quality time with your horse on a BYO Horse Holiday at Kerewong Horse Farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia. Stay in comfortable self-contained cabin accommodation while your horses graze in the nearby post and rail fenced paddock.
Make use of the property's horse facilities: the outdoor arena, round yard, and Mountain Trail Obstacle Course. Ride out the front gate into the adjoining State Forests with beautiful undulating trails, or drive 30 km to the Coast for a beach ride.
Activities With Your Horse - Things To Do
Mountain Trail Obstacle Course: A complimentary Introduction to Mountain Trail session is available for everyone who wants to access the obstacle course. See Property & Horse Facilities page for more information.
Go to the Beach: local beaches that allow horses are within 45 minutes drive from the farm.
Self-guided Off-Property Forest Trail Rides: The property-adjoining State Forest trails offer a trail rider's paradise with a range of options for self-guided rides. Easy 1-hour outings, fun half-day trail rides and adventurous full-day treks that will challenge you and your horse. Horse shoes or boots are recommended for longer forest trail rides.
Guided Trail Rides: For those who want to venture without the risk of getting lost or would like a seasoned trekking horse to show their horse the way, you can hire your experienced trail guide host (Kathy) for guided rides of any distance between 5 and 40 km per day.
Supported & Specialised Rides: Kathy and one of her experienced horses can also accompany you to the beach if your horse benefits from a confident beach horse for support. As an experienced intermediate endurance rider, Kathy can also help you and your horse get fit and prepare for an endurance event.

BYO Horse Holidays Details
Guest Horses
Paddock: Guest horses stay in an undulating approx. 1-acre grassy paddock with post and rail fences. The paddock is lined with trees and has all-day natural shade areas (no man-made shelter).
Yard / Stable Box: Individual horse yards and stable boxes can be requested for horses that are unable to be in a shared paddock.
Water: Rain/Tank water is available for drinking and hosing off after riding.
Feed and Equipment: Bring your own horse feed, buckets and all other equipment.
Accommodation
The open-plan studio-style cabin is suitable for solo travellers or couples, as well as 2-3 friends or family members sharing.
Additional accommodation and catering options are available for small groups of up to 6 persons and 4 horses. Please refer to the Accommodation page for more information.
Pricing
- Accommodation: Self-contained cabin accommodation starts at $220 per night per cabin (2 people sharing) with a minimum stay of 2 nights. Linen and towels are provided.
- Horse Fee: $25 per day / night per horse for the first 2 nights with full use of the property facilities, paddock, and water. After the first 2 nights, the BYO Horse Fee will be lowered depending on the length of stay.
- Adjustable Prices: Accommodation packages can be quoted for longer stays & small groups.
How to Book
Please note that wearing an Australian Safety Standard Approved Horse Riding Helmets is mandatory at all times while horse riding on the property and during guided forest trail rides. All visitors to the property are required to sign a liability waiver.

FAQs
No. The property is mainly horse paddocks for the Kerewong horses. However, we offer a round yard, riding arena, and mountain trail obstacle course. You can ride out the gate to explore the extensive bush horseriding trails in the Kerewong State Forest, or drive a short distance to the coast for beach riding.
Yes. While you are free to do your own thing, your host Kathy can also guide you on off-property bush trails and beach rides by arrangement for a reasonable hourly fee. A complimentary Introductory session to the Mountain Trail Obstacle Course is included, with options to book further sessions for confidence-building or one of the Horsemanship modules.
Yes. You can book the Horsemanship Program with your own horse, with a minimum of 2 participants. Please inquire for details.
No. For safety reasons, BYO horses and the Kerewong herd are not mixed during trail rides, except for the guide horse. There may be options to join the horsemanship program with one of the Kerewong horses, depending on circumstances. Non-riding friends or family members are welcome to enjoy the horse farm stay experience.
Yes, all riders must wear an Australian Safety Standard Approved helmet while riding on the property or with the Kerewong guide off-property. Helmets are recommended at all times, even when riding without the guide off-property. Please bring your own Australian safety-standard approved riding helmet.
No. We only offer BYO Horse Holidays with our on-site accommodation.
